Initiate a Callout

We all know that the key to crisis management is communication. BC-3's Communications module enables you to communicate with your stakeholders during an event.  This function is available for Administrators only.

From the Administrator menu, click on the Communications menu then Notifications and Initiate a Callout

  • Select which devices you want the message to go to
  • Select the recipients for the message - either by group/team in Plans (eg, Crisis team, Recovery Team); or by Employee list (this can be by site, by organisational structure or you can select all employees)
  • Click Next

  • Type a message - note SMS must be limited to 160 characters.
  • You can select to use a predefined Template or just type your own message.
  • Click Next.

  • Confirm details and click Initiate Callout

  • A Callout Status page will display and you can return to this at any time via the Communications>Notifications>Incidents menu option to show the status of messages.
  • If you have 2 way SMS enabled in your system you will be able to see responses on this screen.

Templates can also be created/edited by accessing this section from the Communications> Notifications> Incidents menu.
